The Novato City Council appointed seven Novato residents, including two formerly homeless people, to a new committee tasked with advising the city on housing and homelessness. Among the committee members are Jason Sarris and Jenn Mallow, who are members of the California Homeless Union's Novato chapter and former homeless residents. Both will serve two-year terms. 'What Jason and I bring to this committee is a balance and a voice that hasn't been heard before,' Mallow said on Friday. 'It's a new perspective that hasn't been taken into these policies before.
